We support initiatives promoting the well-being of local communities.
At YS Distributors, we have committed ourselves to improving the quality of life in the communities where we do business. Our philanthropic priorities reflect the global and local nature of our business and focuses on those priorities where we can make a unique and sustainable difference.
Winter Warmth Charity Drive
Every year when the winter season approaches, the underprivileged communities within KwaZulu-Natal begin to worry about facing the harsh weather and providing food for their families.
YS Distributors works with the Durban Buddhist Association every year on the Winter Warmth Charity Drive to provide clothing and food parcels for the local underprivileged families and students. Each parcel contains a 5kg bag of rice, 2L of cooking oil, a blanket, a pair of shoes, a jersey and 2kg of maize meal. We aim to give out one thousand parcels per year to the underprivileged communities.
At YS Distributors, we are committed to assisting and giving back to the local community.
Wheelchair Charity Drive
The wheelchair is one of the most commonly used assistive devices for enhancing personal mobility, yet, thousands of South Africans remain bed-ridden, rely on family members to carry them around, or turn to unsafe and uncomfortable home-made alternatives. According to the Wheelchair Foundation (WF), it is estimated that at least 100 million children, teens and adults worldwide need a wheelchair but cannot afford one.
At YS Distributors, we believe that a wheelchair is a basic human right and we aim to create awareness of the needs of people with physical disabilities.
Each year, we continue our efforts in collaboration with the Durban Buddhist Association to provide mobility for those in need.
With the help of the Durban Buddhist Association, we aim to provide wheelchairs to those who need them most, in order to give them independence and be an invaluable member of their community.
